Oncoshot has added an extra layer of security, known as Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), for app.oncoshot.com (for hospital users) and insights.oncoshot.com (for industry users) to keep your account safer. 2FA means you need two kinds of proof to log in. The first authentication factor is your Oncoshot account password. The second factor is a unique 6-digit passcode generated by a 2FA authenticator app installed on a separate device like your mobile phone. The two-step verification process is to make sure it id really you trying to get into your account.

If you are setting up your 2FA for the first time on Oncoshot, start by logging in with your account password. After that, you will see a 2FA authentication screen which will show you a QR code. Scan this QR code using your mobile authenticator app to link your device to your account, and then enter the passcode it generates.

Please follow the step-by-step user guide below to set up 2FA for your account:

1. Go to app.oncoshot.com or insights.oncoshot.com, start by logging in with your account password.

2. Download Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator or any other mobile authenticator apps to your mobile phone via Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS).

3. Scan the QR code on the Oncoshot 2FA authentication screen with your mobile authenticator app:

  • For Google Authenticator – please click on Plus (Add) button on the main screen of the app. Next select “Scan a QR code” from menu to enable your phone camera for QR code scanning.

  • For Microsoft Authenticator – please click on Plus (Add) button on main screen of the app. Then select Other (Google, Facebook, etc.) to enable your phone camera.

4. Use the QR scanners from either Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator to scan the QR code displayed on the Oncoshot 2FA screen. This will immediately set up an authenticator that generates a 6-digit passcode for your future logins.

5. If you face issues with scanning the QR code, click the “Trouble Scanning?” button for an alternative setup method. If you successfully set up the authenticator by scanning the QR code, skip this step and proceed to step 6.

  • When you click on “Trouble Scanning?” button, you will be taken to a screen that display a 32-digit code which provides an alternative way to set up your authenticator.

  • By using the 32-digit code, you can manually configure your authenticator. For Google Authenticator, use the “Enter a setup key” option, and for Microsoft Authenticator, select “Enter code manually”.

  • The 32-digit code should be input into the “Key” or “Secret key” field of your authenticator app. “Account” or “Account name” field should be input as ”oncoshot-app”.

6. Once the authenticator is successfully set up, it will produce a 6-digit passcode that expires periodically. To log in to Oncoshot, copy this 6-digit passcode into the "Enter your passcode here" field on the Oncoshot authentication screen.

7. Once you have entered the 6-digit passcode, proceed by clicking the login button.

8. If your authentication is successful, a confirmation message will display to show that your identity is verified successfully via 2FA, and you will be automatically redirected to the main page of your organization in Oncoshot.

9. The next time you sign in, you can check the "Remember this browser" box if you prefer not to enter the 6-digit passcode for each login. However, for security purposes, the system will prompt you for the passcode again after 30 days.

10. Please contact support@oncoshot.com if you require assistance to sign in or to set up your 2FA authentication for your Oncoshot account.
